Every six years, the Sisters hold a Provincial Chapter, a gathering at which they set the directions for the future. The Chapter produces a Mission Statement, which guides the Sisters and their partners in the vision for mission.

Mission Statement

of the

Good Shepherd Sisters

As women passionately committed to the Good Shepherd tradition of

compassion and reconciliation, we are convinced of the continuing

importance of this gift to the world.

We acknowledge our responsibility to recognise and honour this gift

wherever it is found.

We commit ourselves to find creative pathways to nurture the

Good Shepherd spirit.

In this way all who share an evolving partnership with us will

know the story,

           embody the spirit and

                          pass on the flame

Through lives of prophetic witness, direct service and action for

justice, we seek right relationships with all of humanity and creation.

When any person is oppressed we are all diminished.

When any part of creation is abused or destroyed, we are

        impoverished.

We are prepared to challenge people, institutions or structures

that diminish fullness of life and human dignity.

Our love reaches out to all creation and all peoples.  Through our

lives, our choices and our resources, we contribute to global healing

and fullness of life for all.
